Following my dream in opening my business, Botanic Beauty, NZ
2018 was the year I said to myself “what do I really want to do when we move to NZ”. You see I’d moved countries a few times, that never phased me, but I’d never been brave enough to give up my full-time job. My beauty business was something ‘on the side’. The decision had been made that we were moving into our own home in beautiful Queenstown, NZ and that didn’t scare me at all. I knew I could find another job as I’d had years of experience as an Executive Assistant at top companies in Sydney and the UK. It’s the safe option – a steady wage, often great perks on offer and it’s a job… just a job.
But did I really want to go and work for someone else again? Would I find that perfect role where I’d be jumping out of bed in the morning actually wanting to go to work. Who did I know in my close circle friends that had ever taken the plunge to going out on their own (besides my husband)? Would it not be too chaotic running two businesses respectively?
I’ve always been told “there is a reason for everything” and maybe this move was the reason I needed to start my business. As the Rascal Flatts sing ‘Why Wait’. There was nothing stopping me besides mind clutter, absolutely nothing!
And there is nothing stopping anyone from pursuing their dreams and doing what they love.
I cannot wait to meet my first client, to build up my client base, to meet so many new people in this beautiful town and to succeed in my new business. I cannot wait to share these amazing pure, safe and beneficial products with everyone. I’m super excited!
Thanks for reading my first blog. I’ll leave you with this quote…
